About the Homes...
The Charles Rundle House mansion
This absolutely glorious Victorian mansion and coach house (stables) was builder, Charles Rundle?s home. The home is listed in the ten most important Heritage properties of Ontario, having fabulous McCausland stained glass throughout, fine trims and plaster detail, period fireplace mantels, flawless design, a rich history and a resident ghost.
The Edward Gallow mansion
Designed by architect and master builder E. J. Lennox (Toronto City Hall and Casa Loma). Built in 1889 by master builder Charles R. Rundle, the home was the residence of Edward Gallow Esq., then of noted art collector Charles W. Band. The Band collection today forms part of the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Now with meeting rooms, wedding and corporate packages and planning, a concierge, Spa and more.
10 Cawthra Square
Cawthra Square B&B opened here in 1996. Restored to its original 6 bedroom plan, the home is adjacent to Cawthra Park, the 'handkerchief' park where the powerful of 19th century Toronto came to major cultural and social events at the 'Granit Curling Club'.
10 Cawthra Square is Edwardian architecture at its finest. The oversized and stately design denotes an important heritage. Built in 1901 as a Sergeant's home for the York Militia, it is one of only two remaining such homes on Cawthra Square.
Cawthra Square B&B has gone through significant changes and guests today are welcome at the mansions of Gloucester Square a few doors away to use the Spa, experience High Tea, or chat with the concierge and planner there at any time.
