Salvage is one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Eastern Newfoundland. Be sure to try the fresh crab sandwiches at the local restaurant & visit the Fisherman?s Museum (45 minutes from By d?Bay Cabins).
Swim the beautiful natural white sand, saltwater beaches of Eastport or Sandy Cove (40 minutes from By d?Bay Cabins). Or visit Family Funland in Eastport from mid June to mid Sept. Also in Eastport is the Eastport Heritage Centre, a 210 seat theatre & gallery with weekly shows all summer.
There is a very scenic 9 km hike from Sandy Cove to Salvage that takes one over the top of a mountain with wonderful views of Bonavista Bay & Eastport (40 minutes from By d?Bay Cabins). Terra Nova National Park protects 400 sq. kilometers of boreal forest & scenic coastline. Take the Terra Nova National Park Boat Tour to see eagles & icebergs(20 minutes from by d?Bay cabins).
Boat the beautiful pristine waters of Clode Sound or Newman?s Sound. By the Bay Cabins is situated on Clode Sound & Newman?s Sound is 20 minutes drive in Terra Nova National Park.
