Experience comfortable and clean accommodations in a traditional 2-story saltbox home in the heart of Witless Bay with a view to the Ecological Reserve where millions of seabirds call home. This well maintained and restored home was built prior to 1900. Being nestled among mature maple and hemlock trees you will have privacy on a one-half acre lot. The home features a five-piece bathroom, dining room, living room, kitchen with full appointments including dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, fridge and stove, etc.. Multi-night and weekly rates with room for up to six people.
Being located on Fisherman's Road you can sit in the living room and view the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve or a short walk will take you to the coastline where you can walk beaches, trails, and rugged coastline. In season, you can witness fishermen offloading their catch at the public wharf. If you have an interest in geology, genealogy, ornithology, biology, archeology, history, geography, etc.. Witless Bay is the place for you. If you want to experience tradition, comfort, privacy, and tranquility, Butler House has room for you.
Appointments and features include colour TV with cable, CD Stereo and a collection of CD Music from local to classical, woodstove/fireplace, local books, guides, maps, encyclopedia, etc.. to expand your experience.
If you plan to experience the East Coast Trail www.eastcoasttrail.com, excursions to the Ecological Reserve http://www.env.gov.nl.ca/parks/wer/, hikes on community trails, kayak tours, the Colony of Avalon http://www.heritage.nf.ca/avalon/, LaManche Natural Environment Park http://www.env.gov.nl.ca/parks/parks/p_lm/ where a severe winter storm destroyed the fishing community, or fishing in a nearby pond where 28 lb trout have been caught , and above everything else RELAX, it is best to plan for at least a week at Butler House. Whales, icebergs,and seabirds (atlantic puffins, storm petrel) are common and far to many to count.Plenty of attractions and services within 30-45 minutes by vehicle. Golf courses, a driving range, zodiac, kayak, horseback rides, free guided-hiking tours, berrypicking, fishing, hunting, birdwatching, etc..
This home comfortably accommodates a family of 6 or 2 couples.
Located just 30 minutes south of the capital city - St. John's - the oldest city in North America.

Rates: Weekly 750.00. $90.00 to $150.00 per night Rates are based on double occupancy. For additional persons, add $15 each. Up to 6 persons can be accommodated. Check in approximately 3pm and check out before 11am.If you need to store your luggage, mountain bike, kayak, canoe, etc.., an insulated and secure detached garage to store your items is available.Weekly to monthly rates are available.
Deposit Requirements: 50% Deposit is required and non-refundable with less than 30 days notice. Your deposit can be applied to a future stay if your must reschedule with 7-days notice.
MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Special requests for firewood, shuttle to Trailways, tour operators, etc.. are encouraged and prices will depend on location, duration, and frequency.
